He Namaji is a beautiful creation of Kazi Nazrul Islam, the great luminary of Bangla. The lyrics and the original melody were released as a song in 1936 in the Raag Malabsri and Taal Kaharba in the voice of Abbasuddin Ahmed, one of the most popular artists in Bangladesh. The poem/song is a hailing of the worshipper. Namaji (Persian/Urdu) means the one who prays. Nazrul admires the worshipper and considers him to be greatly pure and blessed. He wishes that the Namaji will pray in the house and bless it with his presence and his act of prayer. The very touch of a Namaji/Worshipper's feet enlightens the house with heavenly bliss.
