Es un extraordinario ejemplo de ciudad gótica y está declarada Bien de Interés Cultural. Dentro del recinto antiguo, posee notables iglesias, como la arciprestal de Santa María la Mayor, gótica (1263-1330), con detalles barrocos; el antiguo convento de San Francisco (siglo XIII); las iglesias de San Juan, gótica (siglo XV) con decoración neoclásica, y de San Nicolás, gótica; y las ermitas de San Marcos y San Pedro Mártir. En arquitectura civil, cabe mencionar la Casa de la Villa (siglos XIV y XVII), las casas Ciurana, de los Piquer, de los Rovira y del Cardenal Ram, así como el Hospital (siglo XV). Morella is an extraordinary example of a Gothic city and has been declared an Site of Cultural Interest. The old quarter has noteworthy churches, such as the Archpriest's Church of Santa María la Mayor, Gothic (1263-1330) with Baroque details; the old Convent of San Francisco (13th century); the Church of San Juan (15th century), Gothic with Neoclassical decoration; and the Church of San Nicolás, also Gothic; as well as the hermitages of San Marcos and San Pedro Mártir. In terms of civil architecture, worth mentioning are the Casa de la Villa (14th and 17th centuries), the houses of Ciurana, Piquer, Rovira and Cardenal Ram, as well as the old hospital (15th century).
