English Translation: "Merely Human" The story behind the poem "Merely Human" (Somente um Humano) is a full portrait of my own powerlessness. This poem was born from my struggle to identify with society's common logic. From an early age, I realized that justice is selective, morality is often a matter of convenience, and hypocrisy is normalized. It isn't hatred toward humanity; it is a critical detachment. It’s a refusal to accept abuse as a rule or injustice as something natural. It is the refusal to reproduce the very things I despise. The poem exists to express this conflict: being a powerless human, living in society, yet not feeling like part of the logic that sustains the system. I make it clear that one would need to be a "superhuman" or a superior being to truly create change. Other than that, it can only be done with allies—and my friends and I alone wouldn't change a thing. We would only be penalized by the "bad guys." Ultimately, I remain stagnant simply because I lack the power to act.
