A shark attack is a nightmare that no one wants to experience; for the Australian surfer Mick Fanning this horror scenario became a reality at the surfing world championship in South Africa with one million people watching it on TV. Our PicBuster shows the terrible moment; it is the ultimate surfer nightmare, a large dorsal fin cuts through the water’s surface, the attack is imminent, but Mick Fanning is not easy prey and he will fight for his life. The white shark is about four meters long, Fanning is rightly terrified; then the predator picks him off the board. Suddenly the triple world champion has disappeared. No one knows whether Fanning has survived the attack. Mick's opponent and best friend Julian Wilson was just a few yards away when the shark attacked. Fanning's mother Elizabeth also experienced her worst nightmare watching live on the television. But the story does not end there! In 2017 the Australian surfer and his opponent Gabriel Medina were again pulled to safety after another close call with a great white at the exact same event in Jeffreys Bay in South Africa. Mick Fanning saw the footage when he was recapping the day's action and was taken aback by the size of the shark.
