In this video, we cover how to add a new website to your list of Google Analytics accounts. We go over installing both Google Analytics 4 and UA with 3 different methods: 1. adding the code directly to your new website 2. adding the code in your content management system (CMS)--WordPress, Drupal, Shopify, Weebly, Wix, Squarespace, etc. 3. adding the code using Google Tag Manager The process for adding a new website is pretty similar to creating a brand new Google Analytics account. If you don't have an account, create a brand new account and the rest of the process is actually the same. It's a good idea to create both a Google Analytics 4 property and a Universal Analytics property. Many people out there still use Universal Analytics over Google Analytics 4 so there will be a lot of support, documentation. 00:00 Intro 00:08 Creating Google Analytics Account 02:00 Why You Should Install Both Google Analytics 4 & UA 02:30 Creating Google Analytics 4 & UA Properties 03:27 Google Analytics 4 Tracking Details 04:12 Adding Google Analytics 4 Tracking Directly to Website 04:35 Adding Google Analytics 4 Tracking to Your CMS 05:21 Adding Google Analytics 4 with Tag Manager 10:06 Adding Google Analytics UA with Tag Manager 10:57 Validating Google Analytics 4 & UA Tracking Note: for validating tracking, even though there isn’t a section specifically addressing the scenario when adding the code directly to your new website or to your CMS, the process is the same using the real-time reports in Google Analytics as mentioned in the last section at 11:26.
