THIS IS SERIOUS!! ADVANCED TRAINING WITH HSRT!!

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, we take on some serious training with the Region E HSRT team. My viewers have seen us with local fire departments on light-duty extrication training and some heavy extrication training. However, this is some advanced training, which we were honored to be a part of. The Chief asked me to set up several different and difficult entrapment situations. My team and I come up with three different scenarios. We only had time to work through one of the scenarios today with the HSRT team, but we were able to learn a lot and worked together quite well. NOBODY was injured. This was a training exercise. Even though this was an advanced training, it was still treated as if it were a "live" event for the most part. It's what we call a "mock" situation. The scene we work together today is a simulation where a truck with a loaded tanker has rolled on top of an occupied passenger vehicle and the people in the car are trapped. The truck and the front part of the trailer have burned, which makes for weak structure of the tank. The object of today's training is to work together to free the occupants of the passenger vehicle, SAFELY, using a combination of tools and skills from all the participants, including us. Learning the capabilities and limitations during training is far better than OTJ (on the job) training when it comes to life and death situations, which we do deal with, but you, the viewer, do not get to see on this channel, since this is a family-friendly format. This may seem boring to some, but it is a crucial part of being involved in the Emergency Services community. Hopefully, this will show some viewers how serious we take our profession and part of the reason we are considered Emergency Services in the state of Missouri.
