Distortion has been an essential tool for my music making for most of my life, whether that was playing guitar, working with synths in amps, re amping synths and production stems through pedal FX or smashing mixers, tape machines and other gear I've always found it fascinating and with the options to CV control distortion in modular it's even better! Head Banger from Setonix Synth & Robots Are Red takes the Swedish Death Metal sound of the Boss Heavy Metal pedal, heavily re vamps it for a wide range of input sources, adds CV control and a creative feedback path and presents itself in Eurorack form. While the name and styling lean on the metal heritage it's been interesting to find a subtler warmth and crunch, synths in tube amp like tones and blown out noisy cassette style grunge for more ambient music.
