I once met a man who lived in the mountains on the border of France and Switzerland. He had such a peaceful life that I one day dreamt of replicating, but he had a warning for me - He said that his way of life can arrive in a person’s life too soon. A person has to build up enough resilience to deal with the challenges that come with remote mountain living. And patience, he said, was the most important skill of all.
