Travel from PITX to Davao City by bus? Why not. This is something I've been wanting to do for such a long time. I've done travelling to Davao City by air and by sea, and I have been wanting to do this to be able to see more of the Philippine countryside from a bus window. When the Pan-Philippine Highway (also called Maharlika Highway) was conceptualized in the 1960s, its main goal was to encourage smoother movement of goods, services and people across the archipelago. Since then, people have been travelling by land from Luzon to Mindanao, and I wanted to experience what it's like taking this long trip by land, with several sea crossings. Fortunately, there's the Davao Metro Shuttle which has been doing the PITX to Davao City route for a couple of years. I booked through their PITX ticketing office. So, here's my actual experience of boarding the bus to Davao City. Sharing with you how much it costs, how long it takes, and what it's like taking the long-distance bus in the Philippines.
