It is performed using leather puppet's in Devi temples as a ritual dedicated to Bhadrakali, in specially built theatre's (koothumadam). This art form is popular amoung Palakkad, Thrissur and Malapuram districts of Kerala, which shower's great aesthetic visuals to the viewers. Tholpavakoothu, like many other traditional art form's, has been facing the threat of extinction, due to the changing cultural value's. This documentary is an attempt to portray the art form with maximum information and pleasing visual experience for the viewers . Hereby, we have tried our luck and best to gather as much as the content, possible to include for the viewers to explore this art form and know more about this fascinating cultural past of our predecessor's.
