In South Dakota grasslands, Cargill and rancher partnerships drive sustainable beef. Today, the grasslands of the Great Plains is one of the most threatened ecosystems on the planet. That’s why Cargill and Great Plains conservation groups, like the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, are working with ranchers to boost the resilience of grazing lands. Through nature-based solutions like adaptive grazing practices, native grass seeding programs and low-tech rangeland water systems, we’re protecting natural habitats and supporting the production of lower carbon beef. Cargill regenerative agriculture initiatives also invest in cost-share fencing programs and other conservation grants ranchers benefit from. Great Plains conservation and more sustainable cattle ranching go hand in hand. 0:00 - Great Plains Grasslands at Risk 0:34 - Economic Importance of Grasslands in South Dakota 0:52 - Personal Connection to the Land 1:16 - Experiencing Wildlife and Working Grasslands 1:59 - Producers and Conservation Working Together 2:22 - Grasslands as a Climate Solution 2:51 - Cargill and NFWF Partnership 3:14 - Bottom-Up, Producer-Led Conservation 3:33 - Regenerative Agriculture in Practice 4:02 - Conservation Benefits for Wildlife 4:29 - Improved Profitability Through Grazing Management 4:55 - Long-Term Stewardship and Lasting Impact
