What a time indeed! By far my favourite steam gala to date. Had a lot of fun experimenting with some lesser used locations and different angles then normally seen when people film on the ELR. Hope you all enjoy! We begin at Calroes Viaduct just south of Burrs Country Park to see 47298 with the first train of the day. With thanks to @AinscoughProductions for the lovely location! Then we move to Miller Street Car Park, near the old goods shed, at Summerseat for the spectacular Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway duo of the Pug and 'Lanky Tank' 11234 and 11456 respectively. Afterwards we head back up to the station to see the North Yorkshire Moors Railway's BR Standard 9F 92134 make an effortless none-stop march through the station. To clarify, the shot was zoomed in but filmed from a safe distance. We move just south of Chestwheel to see the Lanky engines returning to Bury. A slightly unusual angle, but one that I'd been wanting to experiment with for a while. Following on we move futher north of Summerseat. Now by the foot of Brooksbottom Viaduct to see West Country Class 34092 City Of Wells accelerating away! One of my favourite shots of the gala utilising the low angle and the lush Autumn foliage. We spend the next portion of the day at Burrs Country Park. First to see the splendid Top and Tail breakvan special hauled by Furness Railway Number 20 and Andrew Barclay 1969 J.N.Derbyshire both visiting from the Ribble Steam Railway in Preston. Then we see 11456 on the shuttle, putting on a fantastic smokey display! Then the 9F is seen barking away from the station with little 47298 being dragged along for some extra weight! Afterwards we see the two Ribble guests on another breakvan special with No20 putting on a wonderful show and 1969 whistling along. Our last shot at Burrs is of the 9F making spirited departure for Bury. We move up to Ramsbottom to see Furness detatch from her shuttle and then leave for Bury just as the sun begins to set. Simply marvellous. And last but certainly not least, we return to Summerseat to witness the remarkable event of the 9F hauling Fifteen Mark One coaches with City Of Wells acting as dead weight! My phone certainly does not do justice to the noise that standard made, but the fireglow was well captured. With thanks to @trainsacrossthenorth @ThePlatformEdge and @ELRTrainspotter for saying hello and the company respectively. Thank you all again.
