John Deere 900 HC cultivating tractor for sale

This is a 1987 John Deere 900 HC tractor for sale. The tractor has a 3 cyl diesel engine, side dresser, cultivator frame, 3 point hitch and canopy. There are no shanks on the cultivator bar, however, these are relatively easy to come by. There are some issues with this tractor i'd like to point out to ensure it's described as accurately as possible. The tractor does start and run, however, the engine smokes. This might be an issue where the rings need to be replaced. The battery on the tractor doesn't seem to hold a charge, this makes me believe the alternator needs to be repaired. The fuel gauge does not function, this could be a minor fix. The previous owner touched up the paint on the hood and fenders and caused several bad runs in the paint. The story behind this tractor is that I bought it from a guy down south and he tells me he's owned it for a few years and never drove it or even started it while he owned it. I bought it knowing it needed work done to it but i've got other projects lined up and don't have the time to continue with it. I did have John Deere do work on the injectors and injector pump. These tractors are a little hard to come by and the ones for sale out there are going for around $15,000! Here's your chance to own one for alot less money.
