Undersea Research Associates (URA) announces a new documentary, "The Great Storm of 1913 - Lake Huron's Final Chapter". This program will premiere at the Great Lakes Shipwreck Festival in Livonia, MI on February 28th, 2026 at 4pm. Additional showings are planned for The Farm Restaurant on March 21st, 2026 and Histories and Mysteries Beneath the Inland Seas show in Holland, MI on March 28th, 2026. The Great Storm of 1913 was the worst storm to hit the Great Lakes region in centuries and it’s story has been told hundreds of times. Now, after 112 years, with the discovery of the James Carruthers by the Undersea Research Associates (URA), the complete and final chapter of the story can finally be written. The Carruthers was the largest ship lost in the storm, was still in its first season and was the largest ship missing in all the Great Lakes. Even though the mighty ship has been found, it is still holding onto many of its secrets! Join the URA team as we use the latest in AI technology to help tell the complete story and finish with the discovery and exploration of the largest ship still missing in all of the Great Lakes and the last of the eight ships lost in the Great Storm, on Lake Huron.
