Here's how I used off-the-shelf parts to build a HIGH capacity, and super useful camera arm that is perfect for most workshops and studios. I love that it simplifies overhead shots and closeups - two of the things that tripods struggle with. It's definitely my new workhorse around the workshop! It has multiple articulation points so you can use it as a slider, a jib (crane) or a regular camera arm.
