Running a little late this morning, but still managed to get to work on time. I took a detour from Bloor down Grace to Harbord to get a good video of the new Habord cycle tracks. I'll post a "short" of that later. Lots of cyclists on Harbord. The bike lanes along there were good, but drivers would park in them, and there was always the risk that a driver could swerve into the bike lane and take someone out. So the permanent concrete curbs are definitely an improvement. Down on University, traffic was not as backed up as it was on monday (see previous video). College Street was still closed, but the thing is most drivers would have known that already and picked a better route, meaning less of a backup on university. That's what traffic evaporation is. When roads get congested they don't just become infinitely more congested, drivers find another way, or another time, they adjust their route and congestion goes away.
