Before modern lighting technology, film sets relied on carbon arc lamps (klieg lights) that produced intense light to expose the slow film stocks of the era. (BLUE SENSITIVE!!!) We'll explore the brutal symptoms actors experienced, and how this condition eventually led to the industry to develop safer lighting technology.
