In this video I show how you can prevent drowning honey bees in hive top feeders and even open drinkers. The rapid round feeder doesn't have to result in dead honey bees. Thanks to all who wrote in and said "put a sock in it" Fred (';'). Simple solution that absolutely works. For the corners of those ceracell hive top feeders, put wedges of sponge in and the bees drink from the sponge without venturing down the side to syrup. It works. Child sized socks are very inexpensive and they also work on rapid round feeders. Wash them first! You can sanitize sponges with 10% bleach solution, soak and rinse.
