I am getting ready to install my "under table" staging area and was wondering about the visual perspective of how it would look. If I were to apply this same method to an upper level, say 16 or 18 inches above the layout, what would each differing grade appear as along the walls. I drive through Donner Pass in the Sierra's a lot and on the other side of the Truckee River Canyon the Railroad lines climb along the mountain sides. Not within a Helix. So with that image in my thoughts I am contemplating using that method for a rise to an upper level.. To create a mountainside along the walls on the outer edge of the layout to allow the connection from the main level to an upper level. Just as I am doing with the staging area below the main level. So this is what the grades appear as, starting from 4% going to 1%. I used these grade references since they are the standard Woodland Scenics product grades available without modifying. Also I started with the 4% then down to 1% since the space constraints for MOST room size or 4x8ft tables will allow at least something around that grade percentage!
