A dad and his special needs daughter

I checked on Erin at after bedtime, and instead of being asleep, she was all wrapped up in the mosquito net! She wasn't too purturbed and, after unwrapping her it was a special dad and daughter moment just spending some quiet time together. Erin has a disease, Chromosome 15q Duplication Syndrome, or Dup15q for short. She's 6 years old and still remains unable to say any words, and communication is extremely limited. But we've learned when she's happy or upset, and to some extent what her likes and dislikes are. This is us just enjoying quiet moments together - those often overlooked precious minutes that carry more weight than we reslise. I love being Erin's dad. I hope somewhere in her mind she knows how deep our love is for her.
