Growing up in Los Angeles, I've made it a priority to find nature within it. I find that I feel most grounded; I feel most relaxed; I feel most connected to God and the earth in these spaces. I want to encourage you all to find green spaces within your own communities. Pull out a map, a physical one or online, and look. Talk to your friends. Ask them, "What's your favorite park? What's your favorite hike?" I am aware that green spaces may be harder to find in some cities than others, but if you truly look, you'll find them. There are people who still care for these spaces, advocate for these spaces, and tend for these spaces.
