Why They Chose AWS CloudWAN DISH Tech required a solution that offered full automation, high segmentation, and centralized management—a single pane of glass to orchestrate connectivity. By adopting AWS CloudWAN, they immediately addressed critical challenges: • Goodbye Mesh, Hello Hub-and-Spoke: They transitioned from a complex partial mesh topology to a streamlined hub-and-spoke architecture, where AWS CloudWAN serves as the hub, and data centers and VPCs connect as spokes. This drastically reduced network complexity. • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) Achieved: Manual configuration was eliminated. The core network policy is now defined in a machine-readable JSON document, and all changes are implemented exclusively through CI/CD pipelines. Any new VPC or environment is attached automatically through tagging. • Segmented and Secure: CloudWAN allowed Dish Tech to create detailed network segments, isolating production and non-production traffic, and securely separating the Sling Legacy environment from the new Control Tower environment.
