Dedicated to my father, William (BILLY) wallace. Lyric meanings: “the dirty deed done”- my grandfather getting shot in half by a machine gun and the Italian mafia forcing my father and all his siblings and my paternal grandmother to watch him die, due to a bad heroin deal. My father was only about 6 years old when he watched his own father pass away in front of him. The song is written as a life guide for my father to not die, even though he did. A song that would help him to get over his trauma so it wouldn’t kill him too, like the rest of his family by keeping secrets. It is a song written from Billy’s father to him (my paternal grandfather). This song is to help ME to heal my trauma as well by understanding the different stories in my head. This is the nature of inner child work, trauma therapy, and the methods I am EVER so grateful for from my wonderful clinical therapist, Dr. Dye and the amazing team of people he manages at my therapy program. They are all helping ME, Samantha Monique wallace, to not be able to die by helping me to heal the parts of me that never got to heal, which in essence are all my dead family members that have passed away. By healing them, I heal Sam. For me, this meant having a Reunion with the stories in my head and having to work TOGETHER with the stories and different parts of me, which are my deceased family members due to not processing their trauma. I, Samantha Wallace, am now working with the deceased family members inside of me to write therapeutic music for my recovery. If this doesn’t make sense, just enjoy the song! Basically, me and my deceased family members wrote this song. I am very proud of the things WD has been able to pull out of me. This song was originally a WONDERFUL assignment from an AMAZING therapy center called WD RECOVERY AND WELLNESS CENTER. This song represents the beginning of my healing. Along with Leslie, Dr. Dye has spent many ATTENTIVE patient hours and time to get me to open up to heal my inner child. This song is the first of many describing the struggle of traumatized individuals. Perhaps one day, SOON, along with the wonderful team at WD, I’ll be able to help someone else heal their parts and work with traumatized individuals to break family cycles and the system, which has been my dream since I was about 12 years old.
