It is due to positive ulnar variance, i.e. the cubitus is too long relative to the radius. This pathology is a common cause of pain in the ulnar side of the wrist and limitation of strength. The intervention consists in performing an osteotomy of the distal radius or shortening of the cubitus at the diaphyseal or metaphyseal level and to stabilise the correction with a stable osteosynthesis using a locking screwed plate.
