Need for Speed Payback is a racing game set in an open world environment of Fortune Valley; a fictional version of Las Vegas, Nevada. It is focused on "action driving" and has three playable characters (each with different sets of skills) working together to pull off action movie like sequences. Ignition is the first chapter of the career in Need for Speed: Payback following on from the prologue and continues into Desert Winds. It is made up of seven missions that starts with Tyler being a valet for Marcus and ends with the crew getting back together at Rav's airfield. It also offers the player two opportunities to select their starting cars with a race build choice for Tyler and an off-road build choice for Mac.
