I assigned this to a student 3 days ago in an online lesson to help her get more fluent using bis key B flat on saxophone. I hadn’t played this etude since 9th grade (about 7 years ago) so I figured I’d join her! This I believe is the very first edition of the Ferling book, so I have staccato articulations in spots that the modern edition doesn't have. But anyway, here it is: day 3 of progress. So far, it is not as good as I’d like it to be. For example, I would like the response from articulating the arpeggios in the 5th line, measure 4 to be more crisp. That will come with a more focused airstream all the way through. I also would have liked some of the palm key D’s in this recording to have been more crisp when I articulated it. I’ll keep workin!
