Then there’s Russ, whose Native American Aeolian drone flute—handcrafted from a century-old piece of wood—came into his life by cosmic design. He’s only been playing since May of last year, but when you hear him, you’d swear he’s been doing it for lifetimes. The duo met at Ki’s Dallas event, "Verses in Vibes," where Russ showed up with his flute and instantly changed the game. Ki had been searching for a sound to complement her poetry, something ancient, something with weight. The universe delivered.
