The current state of the meta revolves a lot more around more niche team builds & archetypes, compared to the forerunning Hypercarry meta we've had for a long time. The HSR Dev team has steadily released new characters that function perfectly in more niche categories, but are so strong that they can be used in other team comps. Honkai: Star Rail is coming to the end of v2.4 and the current banner character is Yunli, a powerful physical destruction unit that focuses on counterattack playstyle. Jiaoqiu & Sparkle, are next and both characters have a lot that can be said for or against them. For F2P, this choice is a lot more important due to the new cast of characters coming in the future. Yunli is a Physical Destruction Character who focuses on dealing massive damage with her ultimate's counterattacks. Jiaoqiu is a Fire Nihility Character that debuffs enemies with Ashen Roast, and is able to assist Acheron to get more stacks for her ultimate, as well as other team archetypes currently in the game.
