The scenery at Red Lake alone was spectacular and the splendor continues as you climb above Red Lake ... the Reddest Lake of them all. 2023 Route Findings: Trail is very faint in places, so route finding skills and careful attention to staying on target are necessary here. The road to the 4 Wheel Drive Trailhead is most definitely high clearance only! I would chose your vehicle for the approach drive accordingly, it would suck to get high centered out there. The record breaking snowfalls of the 2022-2023 season have resulted in lingering snowfields above treeline, but they are avoidable on this route right now if you don't mind some talus. Although this is not a technical climb, this Peak is difficult and should only be attempted by experienced Mountaineers.
