Artists of Organisations of Hindu Malayalees - BC (OHM-BC) perform 'Chenthamara' and 'Polika Polika' dance from the 2023 Indian Malayalam-language political action thriller film titled 'Chaaver' (Suicide Squad) during the inaugural DIYAFest at North Delta Centre for the Arts in Delta, BC, Canada on Friday, Oct. 17, 2025. DIYAFest — a celebration of light, a sharing of culture, and a gathering of community — featured community rangoli artworks-making using coloured rice and powder with Sahil, diya (shallow earthen lamps ) decorating stations, mehndi (henna) body art, 18 glowing holes of mini golf, music provided by DJ Andy and DJ Surbee, and an immersive 3D light show. The event also featured dance performances from The Royal Academy of Punjab, Organisations of Hindu Malayalees (OHMBC), Indian Naach, Redhawks Canada, Folk Star Arts Academy, and SRI Jagannath Cultural Society, as well as bhangra workshops taught by the SFU Bhangra Club. Food vendors onsite included Chai & Samosa by Roy's, Indish Food Truck & Catering, and Sirka Gourmet Takeout.
