The scheme will offer cashless medical facilities, with Rs 5 lakh for men and Rs 10 lakh for women. Additionally, the Gopabandhu scheme will be merged with Ayushman Bharat, expanding its reach. Over 29,000 hospitals across India will be part of the scheme. A political storm is brewing within the BJD after party leaders raised concerns over the sudden change in decision regarding the Wakf Bill amendment in the Rajya Sabha. Leaders Pratap Jena, Badri Patra, and Ganeshwar Behera have accused Sasmit Patra, the leader of the parliamentary party, of altering the decision without Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's instructions. Pratap Jena has written a letter to Naveen Patnaik seeking action against Sasmit Patra. Senior leaders even met with the Chief Minister at Naveen Niwas to discuss the issue. Hours later, Prafulla Samal also raised concerns about Sasmit's role. The controversy continues to shake the BJD, leading to heightened tensions within the party The BJD is embroiled in a new controversy over the Wakf Bill amendment in the Rajya Sabha. While leaders like Pratap Jena, Badri Patra, and Ganeshwar Behera have accused Sasmit Patra of changing the decision at the last minute, Rajya Sabha MP Debashish Samantray has raised questions about who else might have influenced Sasmit’s actions. Samantray hints at Naveen Patnaik's chief advisor being behind the decision, alleging that the wrong advice led to the party's defeat in the 2024 elections and is now causing further chaos. The opposition has already started calling the BJD "two-sided," adding fuel to the growing fire within the party. Sambalpur MLA Jaynarayan Mishra is once again at the center of controversy. Ahead of Ram Navami, Mishra has been accused of threatening police officers and inciting rioting at the town police station. The issue gained significant traction after the IIC lodged an official complaint, leading to political turmoil in the region.
