On 3rd March, I went trekking to Padargad. The climb was amazing, but the return journey turned sour. Near Khandas village (Karjat), multiple roadblocks were set up by locals demanding “donations.” The catch? If you refused, they threatened to throw permanent colors and balloons at you and your bike. These stains don’t just ruin clothes—you often have to throw them away—and they can even damage vehicle paint. It’s really disappointing to see villagers resorting to such tactics for a few pennies, spoiling the experience for visitors and tourists. Trekking should be about adventure, nature, and celebration—not intimidation.
