Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi Walks Out Of Assembly Over National Anthem Row | News9

Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi walked out of the Legislative Assembly in protest, refusing to deliver his speech over the precedence of the national anthem versus the state anthem, Tamil Thai Vazhthu. The Speaker stated it is a tradition to sing the state anthem first, but the Governor insisted the national anthem must be sung before proceedings. Lok Bhavan later issued a press release saying the Governor’s microphone was repeatedly switched off and that issues like atrocities against Dalits and sexual violence were bypassed.
