Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Double Cab, we're going to install part number C15323. This is a Curt Class 5, 2-inch receiver hitch. This is what the hitch looks like, once installed on our 1500 Silverado. Next, we'll go ahead and give you some measurements to help you out in selecting some accessories, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack, or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening, down to the ground, will be about 19 inches. From the center of our hitch hole to the edge of the bumper will be about two inches. One thing to note, the actual end of the hitch goes past the edge of the bumper about a half-inch. Now we'll go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. The first thing we need to do is go ahead and get our truck ready to install our hitch. In this case, we'll take a look underneath here, and you'll see this, which looks like a partial hitch, already behind the bumper. Our hitch is actually going to replace this part. We need to take this part off first. We'll go ahead and remove this nut and this bolt. We'll be using a 21-millimeter socket. We're going to leave the one bolt here, in place, but loosen it up until we're ready to take this bumper structure off. For this bolt here, you also need a 22-millimeter wrench. Let's go back over to the passenger's side and do the same thing. With our bumper structure completely loosened up, it may be a good idea to get extra hands to help take it down. At this point, we can go ahead and install hardware for our new hitch. This hole right here will be used for our attatching point. We'll use this big block and a carriage bolt. Loosely drop that into place. We'll do this hole, right here. This will Get a smaller block. The hole is off-set on it, like that, right there. The bolt that we took out earlier, the threaded section we'll reuse for our hitch later on. Let's go over to the passenger's side and do the same thing. We're almost ready to lift our hitch up into position. After we do that, we'll install the flange nut. We want to get an extra set of hands to help lift up our hitch and put it into position. With one bolt on each side holding the hitch up, let's go ahead and install the rest of our hardware. With all our hardware loosely installed, we'll go ahead and tighten down the bolts. Then we'll torque the bolts down as specified in the instructions. That's what it takes to install our Curt Trailer Hitch, Class 5, 2-inch receiver hitch, part number C15323 on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 double cab. .
