CINNAMON TWIST SNOWFLAKE From the kitchen of: Wiley & Company Homestead DOUGH: ¼ c. milk ⅛ c. sour cream ¼ c. water ⅛ c. sugar ¼ c. butter, softened 1 egg ¼ tsp. salt 2 ½ -3 c. flour 1/2 package yeast, or 1 1/8 tsp. FILLING: ¼ c. brown sugar ½ c. butter (about 7 ½ Tblsp) 1 Tbsp. Cinnamon, ground Sift flour, sugar and salt. Cut in butter to the size of peas. Dissolve yeast in warm milk and add beaten eggs to yeast mixture. Add to flour mixture and knead until it comes away clean from fingers. Place in a large bowl or pan. Cover with a tea towel and let rise until double. Cut dough into 4 sections, rolling one a time on a large floured board or cloth and try to make a circle for each section. Place layers on top of one another and cut in to a circular shape. Separate layers and spread nut filling over three of the dough circles. Place layers on top of one another and proceed to cut and twist sections. Pinch each section edges to close. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F degrees. Brush top with beaten egg, before putting into oven. Bake 25-30 minutes, until tops are brown to liking. Dust with powdered sugar once snowflake has cooled.
