Here's the next episode of Three-For-All with 3 Bruce Kulick Licks From 1989 I've had a number of requests to feature some licks/ideas from Bruce, along with additional requests for more KISS and Ace Frehley (and even USB Ace Frehley), so I figured it was time to feature Bruce and some of his fiery blues-rock phrases/ideas in this lesson. Bruce hit the scene in the late 1970s playing alongside Michael Bolton in the short-lived group Blackjack, and eventually did some studio/session work for various artists until he joined forces with KISS around 1984. Bruce stayed with KISS until 1996-ish, and eventually became a member of Grand Funk Railroad, where he's held his six-string position in that classic band for the last 21 years. The ideas in this lesson came from a candid guitar clinic at a music store in 1989, and while I'm not sure where this footage was actually performed/shot, there's plenty to tangle your fingers with hiding in this lesson, including some tasty Blues scale-based ideas flirting with the b5, a segment breaking down 4-point tapping ideas, along with a batch of slick tapping licks from Bruce back in the day. Needless to say, Bruce is an expressive and tasteful player, as his licks and solos commonly feature plenty of raw blues-based phrasing and ideas, coupled with some of his modern licks and phrases. He's a package player with plenty of slick licks and cool ideas hiding up his sleeve. Give this lesson a view, leave some comments/feedback, and please subscribe to Late Night Lessons - THANK YOU!
