Building Aviation Infrastructure for Sustainability in Operations and the Community The aviation industry is facing growing customer demand and the evolution of technology requiring more capacity and a shift in airline operations. Airports and airlines are planning and building “now” to address these demands. It has become ever more apparent that focusing on sustainability will help with operational efficiency, maintainability, and environmental impact. Carbon neutral and net zero initiatives can be daunting, but there is a way to make advancements that also support operations and benefit the bottom line. This panel will explore the opportunity the aviation industry has for airports and airlines to use their capital investments in a way that both supports current and future demand, evolving to a more sustainable and efficient operational solution. How do we synergize the need for sustainability, carbon neutrality and net zero initiatives with the immediate need for operational efficiency and financial mindfulness? How do we interface within the community in these efforts? Moderator: Travis Sanderfer, Executive Program Manager, Turner & Townsend – Houston Airport System @houstonairports Panelists: B.J.
