Adapted from a webinar recorded March 27, 2018, this Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority educational webinar highlights two Pennsylvania facility perspectives and the processes they are using to identify, treat, monitor, and report pressure injuries in their facilities. This webinar also provides a review of baseline Pennsylvania Patient Safety Reporting System (PA-PSRS) pressure injury reporting data collected since the reporting criteria has changed (Jan. 1, 2018), an overview of the reporting principles, decision tree tool, and online education available. Following this webinar, listeners should be able to: • Summarize the pressure injury reporting requirements and principles effective January 1, 2018 • Review baseline pressure injury reporting data collected from PA- PSRS • Identify opportunities to decrease hospital-acquired pressure injuries with real-time reporting • Learn how real-time reporting of hospital-acquired pressure injuries was established at Lancaster General Hospital • Understand the impact of data that improved collaboration of interdisciplinary stakeholders and subsequent reduction of hospital-acquired pressure injuries • Discuss the role that the WOCN plays in pressure injury identification, treatment, and collaboration with Patient Safety • Discuss the role of Patient Safety in monitoring and reporting pressure injuries SPEAKERS: Melanie A.
