Buyer Beware: Disappointed with the Finish and Quality of the 10x5 Tipper Trailer I recently purchased a 10 x 5 hydraulic tipper trailer and was significantly disappointed with the overall quality and finish, especially considering the price point. While the trailer itself is a decent size and rated at 3.2 tons, the craftsmanship and attention to detail are severely lacking. I strongly recommend watching this walk-through video before making a purchasing decision. Quality and Finish Issues Sub-Par Galvanization: Despite being advertised as fully galvanized, many areas appear to have been touched up with galvanizing paint after the main galvanization process [01:10]. This touch-up is visible on the floor [01:25], tailgate [01:46], and front of the trailer [02:04], which raises concerns about premature corrosion. Painting Over Rust: Most concerningly, the entire wheel arch has touch-up paint applied over it [02:25], which the video suggests was covering existing rust. This significantly compromises the longevity and corrosion protection of the trailer. Poor Workmanship and Welding Excessive Weld Splatter: The welding quality is average [04:54], but the most significant issue is the abundance of welding splatter (burrs) that were not cleaned off before the galvanizing process [05:04]. Because the splatter was galvanized over, it is now permanent and cannot be removed [05:12]. Safety Hazard: The uncleaned splatter makes the surface of the trailer very rough, and there are sharp edges and even welding wire sticking out [05:30], which could cause injury. Poor Hydraulic Box Sealing: The lock for the hydraulic battery box was sealed with a visibly poor application of normal silicone, which appears to be a low-quality solution for waterproofing [04:33]. Missing or Incomplete Components Ramp/Holder Issues: Critical components intended to prevent rattling were missing on my unit. Both the top and bottom rubber dampeners were missing on the back ramp holders on both sides [02:59], causing the ramp to slide and be "really noisy on the road" [03:13]. Safety Pin Deficiency: On the ramp holders, only one safety pin was provided, when it appears two may be required for a secure fit [03:04]. Electrical Concerns Exposed Wiring Connectors: The wiring connectors are poorly protected and are simply left exposed, sitting outside the proper housing [03:52]. This, combined with a cable protector that appears to be the wrong length [04:07], suggests a risk for premature electrical failure due to weather exposure. Recommendation: Based on the numerous defects related to the finish, welding, and incomplete components, I advise all prospective buyers to thoroughly inspect the trailer before purchase. The observed issues were significant enough for me to create a video review to document the problems and advise others. Please watch the full walk-through video for a detailed visual inspection of all the issues mentioned.
