This video explains the surgery most commonly done to fix a problem know as uretero-pelvic junction or UPJ obstruction. This is now done robotically with three small incisions for ports. The disease portion of the ureter is removed and the collecting area or pelvis of the kidney is sewn back together or reconnected to the ureter. I discuss what to prepare for for the surgery, the recovery and follow up afterwards. These videos are purely informational. They are not all-encompassing about the procedure or treatment.
