“Neo” means new and “Vaginoplasty” is where we are reconstructing the vagina. The classical definition of a neovaginoplasty is creating vagina where there is none. So it is when there are some birth defects, where there is absence of uterus or different parts of the female reproductive system and that includes the vaginal part also. So to help them achieve a normal married life, we create new vagina. Creating a new vagina, where we have to recreate the space, line it with the nral skin so that it functions like a normal vagina. But nowadays vaginoplasty is the tightening of the loose vagina or the loose vaginal canal which happens mostly after deliveries or normal prolonged labour or multiple children. So what happens because of the child birth is the vaginal musculature becomes more relaxed and more loosened. So that gives a sense of dissatisfaction and so to tighten that we do vaginoplasty. So basically the neovaginoplasty or the vaginoplasty is the tightening of the vaginal canal post child birth and that is done by tightening the muscles and also removing a part of the mucosa that is also part of the vaginal canal to make it tighter so the patient or the own gets a proper grip and she achieves orgasm and she feels better during the intercourse.
