He was married and resides with his wife and two children, aged 15 and 17. He was self employed and owned his own business, Indoor Auto Wash and Detailing Center located at 1566 Midland Avenue. On Tuesday July 6, 2010 at approximately 1:02 pm, the Toronto Police Service received a call to 1566 Midland Avenue, in regards to the sound of gunshots. Numerous 9-1-1 calls were received indicating that a person had been shot. The suspect was reported walking away from the scene, entering a car, and driving away. 41 Division officers arrived at the scene and located Mr. ROZIK suffering from an obvious gun shot wound. Officers performed C.P.R. until being relieved by Emergency Medical Services who continued life saving efforts while transporting the Mr. ROZIK to Scarborough General Hospital. At approximately 1:36 pm Mr. ROZIK was pronounced dead. There were several witnesses to the incident who remained on scene and spoke with Police. Detective Sheila Ogg (994) and Detective Kate Beveridge (2825) of the Homicide Squad attended and took charge of the investigation. There were numerous video surveillance cameras in and around the premise. The suspect has been captured on several of these video camaras. An appeal has been made through the media requesting further witnesses who were in the area at the time of the shooting to come forward with information.
