Dig Daddy is a beefsteak type tomato, individual tomatoes can reach a pound in weight. Its no wonder then that most of the flowers on the vine truss don't produce a tomato usually limiting it to 2 tomatoes, that's about as much as the truss can support without splitting off. Check out these two 'bad boys' as compared to the size and delivery that can be expected from a 'cherry' type tomato and a 'standard size' tomato. OPEN QUESTION: This is the plan . I have left about 6" of tomato plant stem and the root system intact in the bag it is growing in. I have never done this before and I was wondering if the tomato plant would (come back to life) in the spring of next year.
