For the past four years I've been learning Brazilian Portuguese by building on my existing knowledge of Latin American Spanish. Well I recently returned to the Dominican Republic and had to dust off my Spanish… only to find that I speak Spanish like a Brazilian now! Here are six little problems I came across that I was able to "quick fix" to sound more like a proper Latin American Spanish speaker and not a speaker of "Portuñol". What may surprise you is that these difficulties were not grammatically complicated at all, but rather subtle pronunciation tendencies or single little word issues.
