They started from stock car racing, then entered the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1950 for the first time. In modern-day history, Cadillac entered prototype racing in the ALMS 2000-2002 with the trilogy of Northstar LMPs. They then entered the SCCA World Challenge which is today known as Pirelli World Challenge in 2004, with two CTS V.R racecars and marked the start of Cadillac winning races and championships, followed by the ATS V.R finishing the trilogy when Cadillac exited PWC in 2017. They return to endurance racing with the current DPi V.R Prototype which has been a very successful machine winning race back-to-back in IMSA.
