Este sistema operativo fue el nombre que recibió el proyecto en desarrollo que dió lugar a Windows XP en el año 2001. Whistler apareció con la idea de aunar las dos ramas de sistemas operativos que Microsoft estaba desarrollando durante los años 90s. Fue el fruto de la fusión de dos proyectos: NEPTUNE (rama doméstica) y ODYSSEY (rama empresarial). Existen mas de 30 betas de Windows Whistler. Necesitaremos: CD ROM de instalación de Windows Whistler. Podéis descargar numerosas versiones Beta aquí: https://winworldpc.com/product/window... Un PC compatible con Whistler (Pentium 3 o similar). NOTA: las versiones usadas en este video (Early Whistler 2267, Beta1 2419 y Beta2 2446) funcionan y han sido probadas (dentro de sus límites) en un PC Toshiba Satellite S1800 (Pentium 3, 1GHz y 512MB RAM). He probado otras versiones y alguna de las antes comentadas en un Pentium 4 (3,2Ghz y 4GB RAM), con resultados muy malos. En la mayoría de los casos las instalaciones se han colgado o han dado numerosos problemas y no han llegado a buen fin. Espero que os haya gustado el video.
