Just a quickie video, as I'm doing some final tweaks on the Realistic MC-1201 Project, (this is part 6 of that project), and I'm installing bass reflex ports to see if they'll make more bass, louder bass from about 200 Hz on down. I absolutely loved the sound of these in their sealed configuration, (I'm really digging the tight bass from acoustic suspension), but the problem with this particular setup is that I'm using a Dayton Designed Series DS-215 8, for the Woofer in these 2 ways, and those bass drivers are really better suited to a vented enclosure. In this video I'm installing Zobels and flared bass ports to turn these i sealed cabinets into vented enclosures, with the end goal to increase the SPL of the lower bass region. 00:00 Introduction 01:30 Soldering Zobel Resistors and Capacitors 01:44 Cutting Port Holes 02:03 Bass Reflex Ports Pressed In 02:31 Soldering Zobels to Speakers 02:48 Attaching Zobels to Woofers 03:36 Gluing Ports in Cabinets 04:08 Attaching Bass Reflex Tubes 05:31 Reinstalling Insulation, Tweeters and Woofers 05:50 Cleanup, Setup on Speaker Stands 06:05 Bass Reflex Ports and Zobels Installed 08:23 Hooking up speakers and turning on Receiver 09:28 First Listen to Ported Speakers 09:58 Music Sample Coffee Shop Jazz 11:00 Music Sample Live Jazz 12:37 Realizing I was sampling Copyrighted Youtube Music :-o 12:57 Music Samples of Blues (Royalty Free Epidemic Sound) 16:06 Acoustic Music Sample with Vocals 18:15 Thank you for watching!
