Finland currently operates approximately 15 "130 53 TK" 130 mm coastal artillery guns, mounted in turrets placed on bunkers embedded in rocks along its 1,100 km-long coastline, including the Gulf of Finland. Their maximum range is 40 km with anti-ship base bleed shells and 27 km with standard HE shells, while the Gulf of Finland, along which these guns are positioned, has a north-south width ranging from approximately 52 km at its narrowest point to 130 km at its widest. Finland plans to replace its 130 mm fixed guns, in operation since 1984, with mobile artillery systems such as France’s CAESAR or Sweden’s ARCHER.
