The original Radio Kometa is based in a Russian town called Chekhov, not far away from Moscow, located about 80 kilometres south to the Russian capital. After the battle between Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian rebels in the eastern parts of Donbass, several Ukrainian radio stations were shut down and Russian ones have been installed. Since then, Radio Kometa is also audible in the Donetsk area, relaying the main signal from Chekhov and adding local advertising spots. Radio Kometa Donetsk (Радиостанция Донецк Комета) operates on 98.6 MHz CCIR-FM and 70.49 MHz OIRT-UKV. Radio Kometa Chekhov (Радиостанция Чехов Комета) operates on 92.6 MHz CCIR-FM and 70.49 MHz OIRT-UKV. Both stations are owned by "Media Holding Kometa". They do also operate Lopasnya, the information and entertainment portal of Chekhov, Energo Info and Pogranec. Because both radios are broadcast on the same frequency of 70.49 MHz, you have to be very attentive while identifying the location. I have compared the signal which I heard before with the web radio.
