Thank you ‪@beanzard64‬ for recording this video! What a goat Got the glitch! I'm so surprised I was able to get this Flap WR so quickly and I got it by 2.9 seconds, which is pretty crazy. This will be my 3rd or 4th Innovation on a category in order to achieve the WR and it's something I really enjoy doing. Expect more coming from me soon... although I have no idea what I'll be doing next. I'll first explain how the glitch works and then how my attempts went: The glitch begins with an entry into the upside down state (Which I will be calling the 'wheelchair' from now on). The reason that I need to get into the wheelchair is so that I can drive on the Out Of Bounds (OOB) off-road. Essentially, the vehicles' OOB hit box detection is located somewhere near the wheels/bottom of the vehicle. This means that if you are able to flip the car, your OOB detection on the car will be further away from the OOB off-road, giving you just enough room to drive, out of bounds, upside down. It's pretty crazy when you think about it. I want to point out though that this was not my idea originally. The TAS was originally done by ‪@EPIK95‬ and is where I got the majority of my information about the driving of this track, so check him out! I initially got the wheelchair entry for the first time in practice mode, which was after a lot of trial and error. I want to thank BlueFan77 on discord (who, at the moment plays and experiments only on vanilla, wild!) as he created both a more reliable set up and a guide for me to follow, which helped a ton when doing CTGP attempts. It's important to note that the barrel roll state that is used to enter a wheelchair is a certain type of collision given to different objects on certain tracks. On rDH, the only barrel roll collision is on the wall surrounding the lake, so you cannot enter elsewhere. After entering the wheelchair state you must quickly save yourself from falling into the lake by tapping accelerate for only a few frames at a time. This is because your vehicles Internal Velocity cannot go above 15KMH or else your vehicle will flip back over You also cannot turn the vehicle in any direction unless you are touching a wall (you can briefly SSMT and adjust), or if you are on OOB and then you can hop during your MT, but you only have a few frames before your vehicle will flip back over. For those wondering, the Tiny Titan is used because it is thought to be the most stable vehicle upside down. So after I enter the wheelchair state, I'm able to slowly and carefully manoeuvre myself to the OOB off road and begin navigating the checkpoint system I practiced manoeuvring the checkpoint system a lot of times in SP before I gave it a try in real runs (SP allows for visible checkpoints, which are a great visual aid when learning) and figured out which checkpoints to avoid/intentionally hit through the help of a few TASers (‪@kawediloru‬, ‪@Blounard‬, ‪@shadowMKW‬ and ‪@mikul958‬ in particular), I seriously couldn't have done it without them, Thank you! I also had some help once again from BlueFan77 on discord, who set up a guide on where to go once in the OOB section (thanks once again). In essence, I need to do an ultra shortcut once, go around the finish line and then enter the finish line from the front side (it has a whole box worth of detection for a lap count). Then I need to do the ultra shortcut again and finally the lap will count. I need to do all of this upside down, with very little control and with a time limit of 6 minutes (or the ghost will not save). I had only hit this sequence once in SP and got a 17 second lap (I got lucky). I didn't post this anywhere, since I didn't want to give false hope to anyone. little did I know I would get it in an RTA attempt the next day I'm super happy I was able to pull this off so fast, but I want to stress just how lucky I got. I had never taken that particular path for setting up for the delayed lap count successfully (its a backup if everything goes wrong) and I came literally pixels away from starting the lap too early and not getting the delayed lap count. Also I somehow managed to get a workable angle for the last part of the trick, before I fell down the hill, which is also lucky. I got so so so lucky and I was preparing for a grind that would take weeks. One final thing I should mention is that the reason you can do this trick is because the Key Checkpoints on rDH extend all the way out to the OOB hills for some random reason. This is why both Core and ‪@117james‬ were able to originally do the ultra shortcut in the first place. I do feel bad for James, having both of his biggest achievements in this game taken in just a week.
